who needs a working metering anyway ? blog featuring b/w /(leica m6, all frames guessed exposure) and colour (digital canon 1dsMKII)

starting the blog with a quite funny scene. i was walking in the area of museumsquartier and heard this sound of a never ending tooting horn. first i thought it's some art installation, would fit to the place... but then i got curious and looked for the source of it.

when i got closer, i saw this helpless taxidriver, trying to fix the alarm that seemed to go off while driving.. he was on the phone with someone, probably some serviceline.

or maybe he just wanted to steal, but let's not just think that because he looks like he'd never be able to take a plane to new york city...

after about 15minutes the tooting stoped.

having pizza and antipasto with anna. after we had eaten, she was checking her teeth with a toothpick.

all cleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeean

showing some of the recent prints. this one actually.

it's a nice restaurant, just the waiters overdo it with their italian charme sometimes.

later in the darkroom.

it was freezing cold that day.

at the fotostudio weinwurm. people wondering why others pay for these pictures.

the following two pictures were taken, developed and scanned in amsterdam !

a very fitting advert. "tiles, beautiful as love"

"i know the way !"

these girls reacted quite scared after i tried to take another frame. either they are just scared or i looked scary, i can't decide.

the pigeon didn't mind me anymore.

emocouple and dog.

a few people had to celebrate the freedom of kosovo

pretty senseless sentence.

grampa rambo is back in town.

boys aren't scared or evil, they even greet random persons with a camera that are about to take a photo.

at a friends place. first tests, we're about to make a short movie !

daniel playing the male "star role" christina the female.

not yet warmed up.

important VIP calls for our star ! ;)

discussing the storyboard

first test shooting. this is out of context.. but i just had to take photos of that scene.. sorry ;)

later decided to go for a few drinks.

he really managed to divide his cigarette in two while rolling it.. i don't remember if he was laughing or crying there..

füunsswansig bieeeeeeeeer ?

yeah. it looks like fun. but it's all posed, they're professional at posing !

please open the next image in a new window !

back to more serious pictures. trix again.

"good air" instead of "fresh air".. i thought it's perfect for our darkroom.. which features best air conditions you can think of.

in the supermarked. i had guessed f4 1/125th there.. it's the same exposure like outside.. almost like in a studio. pretty much waste of light if you ask me.

subway.

at besmas place. she was so kind, so that i could also portrait her for my series. here is the outcome at flickr.

after the photos. with cigarette

and cat lui.. or loui ?

letter from thailand as far as i remember correctly.

young girl, giving me the evil look. unlike the boys !

at a vernissage of a contest. not too much intresting for me to shoot.. (not meaning the content of the exhibition here)

also hard to guess exposure there.

a lady enjoying the service of the catering.

robert who won the 10000 peanuts for the first price. but his works deserved it imho.

and with the judges. matthias herrmann giving eva schlegel the "bunnyears".. a very intresting moment for the austrian art scene i'd say.. this made me almost
shit my pants to be accurate.

forgot her name holding the cheque of the second price next to herrmann. she did double exposures or montages in b/w, but not baryt though.

a very charming waitress of the catering has lost a glass of wine right beside me. that made me remember the times when i was doing that some years ago.

magdalena on a short visit.

miriam back from germany. that's what she has brought with her. another very subtile decorative poster for the flat !

the next day. shooting random street moments.

a must take moment ! ;)

coca cola versus leica. they have something in common. i should have taken this one in colour though...

nice coincidence there too.

having pita falaffel with miriam.

weird in some way. "euda photo gemacht !"

yeah i cropped the legs.. fuck it.. i know.. still nice frame i think.

boys in the subway.

they didn't naturally think i must be a perv, unlike the young girls.

(things change with the age though, i think of
nude photography here when girls get naked in front of old men because they think they're special then, boys don't do that usually do.. sorry i'm unable to write this down as i would like it to be.. contact me if you want to discuss.. ;) )

the alternate seat.

maybe he was listening to daft punk around the world or he was programmed by the evil Ludwig Vincent

testing the 35/1.4 EF here for the first time. definately not for the last !

50/1.4:

that's not funny face (real one)

still not funny..

hope it was a good read.. i had my fun with most of it.

cheers !

ps: i almost forgot. of course i am selling prints too, because some asked last time, you just need to contact me for details, just mail me: sk7c@gmx.at

Seems like you're doing a fine job with guessing the exposures.
I really like this frame: http://bp3.blogger.com/_hrIwoHYnxgA/R7tgv_YvtbI/AAAAAAAAFyc/Klm2Zf1CoeQ/s1600/IMG12253s.jpg
Also the seriously not funny face of Miriam - the colours are amazing in those frames.
Ok... the photo (animation) with the tongues... FUHREAKY! Haha.

I have definitely enjoyed these last few posts a lot. Very good reading and photos.

I might care reading more of your thoughts about nude photography. With your style it should be interesting.

Oh and how long are we supposed to wait for that "forever-project" website of yours you mentioned before? Don't want to sound rude, just being curious.

Cheers. And enjoy the spring which already seems to start at least here in Finland. ;)

guessing exposures is fun.
a meter is quite useless, and I just wrote that in my weblog, here:

http://lightwasenough.blogspot.com

"confidence" is the key.
keep on shooting, it's a damn good work man!
