after a little break, i'm going to post a bigger bolg entry again. have fun !

ps: please forgive any spellings, it's 4:10am like always when i post a blog.

nightline.. hipshot.
i especialy like this photo. there is some hidden detail in it i enjoy a lot. trix+2 1/8th.. glad it is quite sharp.

went to a small gig. took this one while the band was setting up.

i must say, the shelter has one of the ugliest toilets i know. but still it has style.

there were some oldschool table soccer players. they played it on a very high level. there the red team lost.

the text on the paper sais: "please call me, konny" and then the number. that made me curious what could have happened..

"you always know when to shoot in color" is what joe said. i'd answer "i just shoot differently when i have colour loaded".
public weighing machines.. some vienniese hangover.

austria. a place with culture. shot a few frames with the om1 again. 24/2 with superia1600

pleasure - the city edition. that's what the cig-advert sais in the background.

lorant doing some prints. waiting in the darkroom.. i can't think of anything more excting.. ;)

just made a test shot with the oly with the 24/2 on 2.0 1second.. with superia 1600

so there was this party, i was somehow invited to. i met these three young ladies in the bus and trusted them that they knew where to get off. it turned out that we had to wait for another 30minutes.. then walked around in some posh area at night without any orientation. so it took as 2 hours to get to the party.. at least we had some nice talk.. in south tyrolian.. that's where they're from namely.

first impressions. i loved that washing machine there, next to the floor soaked in mud, vodka, beer, puke and whatever god has else created..

i just have been there for a few moments and had to clean my lens every two seconds, because it was filming over all the time due to tropical air inside.

she wasn't the only one who was seeking for the last bits of alcohol.. but she was let's say the most extravaganca.. oh dude.

sebastian. i think that was his name. he brought that last bottle of vodka.. and suddenly he had a flock of drunken zombies around him that bet for some drops of that firewater... well i must admit that i got my first and last piece of alcohol by him too.. thanks buddy !

(he asked for a kiss on this shot)

after taking this shot ^ i had a short discussion with someone who wouldn't believe that it is possible to take photos without flash there, he added "not even with a leica"... i just said, no, that's incorrect. if i shoot on 3200 asa f2.0 1/2 second, it is possible. i wish he will see this photo someday. kinda pissed me off how many people thought i had the M just for posing.. stupid posh dumbasses..

how much i'm not a fan of this band, i was a fan of this compostion.

shouldn't miss on a good party.

it was very crowded there.. like every squaremeter you met a couple of people.. watched this couple having a little argument.. whatever it was about, i dunno.

this was such a quick shot.. i like that it tourned out.

did i already mention that he was.. completely drunk ? well at least now i don't have to tell you..

"krawall und remmidemmi" the perfect song. quite the definition of the evening.

i don't remember what i said.. i just know i told her this shot will be in the internet tomorrow. so i have to keep my promise.

kathrin and her dress. what a nice combination. especially for b/w.

they asked for it. the right one wanted my email. he offered me to shoot on parties.. i dunno.. i'm not planing to play the party-tiger i told him.. i'd still shoot there if i wasn't the "official" once..

whoever he is. he made it into my frame... thanks ;D

one more half-second one..

this dude earns the "clever" award of the evening. cought him while he mixed all the leftovers, drop by drop out of every bottle.. HE STOLE MY IDEA !! ... hmm

i guessed the 1/8th would be enough.. a 1/4th had been better probably.. but yeah.

someone took ages to make "his" (her) business inside the so called "shit house".. so they made jokes about opening the door with a coin or something..

i like that "call me" down there haha.. a classic.

we talked about.. ehm.. something like that she knew me and i was like umm. really.. it turned out that we've been to the same school... well i "honoured" her with my last frame of the first roll. wow i can sounds so arrogant.. haha lovely!

so new roll: you guess... kodak trix+3 again.. what else. it was freaking dark there

oh. this is a special photo for flora ;) i hope you like it after our healthy discussion !

i think it's a nice piece of documentation.. tell me what you think of it !

people looking for their coats and jackets. i was so clever to place mine somewhere seperated.

this photo in a way reminded me on a photo i took at the novarock: a bunch of..

i like contrasts.. i mean beside the b/w..

congratulations ! you are the chosen one ! i've had that honour many times so far, too many times..

actually i was going for the poster, when she popped into the frame.. PEACE sister !

there is a quite subtile reason why i took this one. i wonder if you find out why.

seems like i wasn't the only one shooting there. he was clever enough to ask for some posed shots and used some flash. bet he wouldn't have believed that my grandpas m6 is still working.. ha.

still didn't feel better... yeah it can ruin your whole weekend..

a birhtday-kid shot shouldn't miss i thought. it was his party and his house, or what's left over..

i dunno but this was almost the darkest corner there.. 1/4th on f2.0 still trix+3

finaly he made it to the sink. the last impression of the party. oh dude.. how i know his feeling..

we had to "climb" over that ceiling there.. he didn't make it on the first try.. due to his alcoholic state.. lol

he did it on the second try. haha.

3am "breakfast" at macD.

we've been the last customers at mcD. they closed the door right behind us. we went to his place to get some sleep.

i liked her hands.

he, the worker, said that he wasn't photogenic. kinda funny since i shot this on 3200 asa, now you can imagine how realistic it is to see details of his face by night. i called back "don't worry, it's just your silhouette".. and walked away.

seriously, are these shots bore you at all ? i'm sometimes not sure if i should keep up shooting these "train portraits".. it is turning into some sort of daily routine.

still here a classic one for you.. i think some of you like it:

i dunno. is it sad or funny or isn't it just normal. what did we wear when we were young ? silly things. still that emo-hype is kinda going too far, i wonder how many kids got hit by a car because of that hairstyle, seriously..

i shot this onehanded, since i just ate a sandwich and couldn't get rid of it. he stood still as a statue.

i always have good experiences shooting asian people. they seem to respect photography and have self irony when i shoot them in funny situations. his father almost encouraged him to pose for me. i still had my sandwich so it took me a while to focus.. still got the photo i wanted.

oh and something else: i've sent this to the deviantart "help desk" juse a few moments ago:

"so i could imagine that i got banned for my (so very funny) kinder-DD journals, that are already deleted.

it would have been useful though to let my know if that has been the reason.

one more thing i'd like to know if there is any deadline at all until i am banned or if it is permanent and depends on some admin's mood to get my account back to business ? ;)

ps: yes it's me again. who would have imagined !

pps: i'm sorry that there is no mood icon for HD-messages.. but i will add this smile: :) since i am all positive.. this message is not meant to insult anyone.. i'm just going to be sure nobody takes my words as words of hate and disrespect, as they are intrepretated in some cases here on deviantart.

thank you for a reply !"

Many great pictures in this post sev, pleasure watching as always

fantastic pictures in this entry, i rather liked the part photos, i would never have thought to push the iso 3, but i rather like the train portraits, i just wish i had a train so i could take them, and the one with the lady in black, where you looking through the camera or just hipshot

Though most of the party shots are complete snapshots some of them are semi-presentable and you tell the story well. I'm sure for the most part all of would love to keep seeing your train shots... there're always different people on the train.. not like you continually shoot it empty.
Majorly sucks that you're banned at DA again.. take it as a compliment, you've got such a huge following and obviously you're influential enough to warrant some attention :P Hope it's not too hard to get yourself up and running again there, look forward to seeing more of your singled out finer works when you arrive back on the scene.

I think the train shots are good, but possibly the 'normal' subject matter is getting exhausted. There will probably always be funny or unique things happening on trains that need documenting, but you've already captured so much normal life that trends are repeating. Once that style becomes a daily routine it might just become a habit and you don't really concentrate on getting the new, original shots.

Personally, I'm not getting tired of any of it... I enjoy all the photos, as well as the descriptions/stories.

Those who find the train shots to be redundant don't have to look at them... That's my opinion :)

Post what you want -- it's your blog ;)

Irgendwie entwickelt sich bei Dir der DA-ban zur Auszeichnung für gute kritische Beiträge. Fast wie'n Orden ;)

The 3rd, 4th and 5th photos are kick-ass. Th 3rd one because of the fact that the guy on the left and the one a few behind him are in the exact same sleeping pose a cool and unexpected repetition of form, definitely one of your stronger 'train shots'. I like the 4th one because the high contrast between the light beams and the silhouetted figures is offset by the mid-tones in the ceiling. I really like how you have placed the focused in the 5th one, the 'bathroom shot', the eyes search round for a moment before they finally settle on the mirror which initially I took for a poster on a wall rather then a mirror above a sink.

As for your banning, ‘Coxi’ has also been banned, so maybe someone did something to cause that account to be banned and your ‘kinder’ account just got banned because of your former association with the ‘coxi’ account.

Hope you're back on DA soon, peace out

did you post the birthday party photos twice? i see them at the beginning of this entry and at the end...

i love the shot of the poor guy over the sink.. and as for the shot with the detail.. one of the guy's bottle is not open ? i don't know. i need a bigger version :O

oh and i love this one : http://woomp.com/media_library/medias/sevwoomp/thumbs/XL01_b1705e133acd4.jpg

and the "pleasure" one
and others

good good !

and train shots, as bike shots, and found objects, you shall never stop taking. you do it so well it would be too bad if you would.

Fabian Grunwald said...

and again a nice enjoyable blog entry. i really like how you present nearly each photo with some words or a little story what you thought during or before the shot.
hmm the train shots .. dont know .. they arent boring but also nothing new.. maybe just take these shots and only post after a while about 10-12 (the best) of them in one blog-entry.. but you are free as a bird so you could make whatever you want to.. and if these shots are boring for you at the moment stop taking them... dont become one of these assholes who only take the photos the masses want to see...

and finally banned again... BAD BOY!!!

I went to a party last week and took my om-1 with some trix +3 and f1.4... and i heard the same comments: "of course you're not takking any photos without flash, is impossible" "it will be all dark!" and so on... i just laught and reply "dont worry ;)".

about the ban... is stupid... once again... whatever...

Hahahaha! Super photo, and nice comment :D

Really digged the series of the really drunk guy. And just all around good photos to watch.

I had a Vespa once too, by the way, almost exactly the same as you shot. But unfortunately no one ever left me such a note :D

Wieder mal sehr feine Bilder. Die Train Portraits werden glaube ich nie langweilig. Wenn du mal alles zusammenstellst könntest du wohl sogar ein Buch oder ne Ausstellung draus machen :-)

just make sure it's got your way of seeing things around you stamped all over it. not someone else's. that's what I come here for.

and to dA. so, wot did you call someone there now? :-)

Booted again. . . sad.

And dont stop the train portraits. Theyre not boring at all. I just got a job for spring where I have to take the train to work. Im not excited about the work part, but the train, yes. And there is a sexy little black M6 waiting for me.

for the shot with the detail, Is it the box of candy (haribo?)

@adam: i turned around. had already prefocused and exposed in a moment of her unawarenes. so i took it normal.

@sting-ray: yes, these are snapshots.. still with the idea to document something without asking people to pose and set up some happy faces.. you know.

@darin: yeah i'm just sorting my photos more than i did before.. i also shoot less, but i try to shoot scenes that are intresting more than once, unlike i did before.

@charlotte: i won't stop doing these shots.. i just do them more rarely now i think.. cause i have so many of them already that it's hard to find scenes that are worth to be taken beside the ones i have already. glad you enjoyed the blog :)

@fabian: "and again a nice enjoyable blog entry. i really like how you present nearly each photo with some words or a little story what you thought during or before the shot." yeah.. well that's what makes a blog in my eyes usualy. otherwise i can just open a gallery and put my work there.. my blog is more like a diary

and yes. i am selecting works from that series already.

@sebastian: apx400+2 will look funky or better, horrible, i fear.. :D

better don't develop it in d76 or id11 but in xtol or dd-x !

@james: sounds cool

@henri+apixx: no it's not.. miriam somehow got it.

thanks everybody :)

The Nazis have no appreciation for satire. And I was enjoying your DDs so much, too.

I'm still enjoying your train portraits very much - definitely not boring.

It is damn amusing when you're shooting at parties without a flash and people laugh at you and think you're dumb. Laugh all they want, joke's on them.

Man thats a lot of booze, nice work with the drunkard exposures too i have some photos up on my blog of a piss up and i pretty much overexposed a whole roll of neopan 1600 due to intoxication :)

Have you thought about collecting all your people in transit photos and maybe making a bit of a series or even an exhibition out of them? Expecially if you printed them on fibre (your printing is getting pretty good now) Perhaps the metro authority would be interested in putting them up on the walls of the metro :) that would be sweet!

I wasn't really sure how to take your Kinder DD journals... the first one seemed like something you hated... but the second one your comment was at least apparently positive. It's not like you said anything nasty.

henri said...

if it's not that then it's the guy sitting on the other guys legs, but it's kind of obvious... so you've got to tell us!

If you got banned because of your journal... then that makes me right again, that's why I've left DA some time ago, that site is FULL of hypocrisy!!! and even from staff members!

you should not stop taking those trains photos, but only take them when it's realy worth it!

I might to a blog too, but it's probably fun to put some time on it only when you have many comments. so I don't know yet!

Congrats on the Ban Sev,
Good work.

hehe
nice endtry and fantastic shots as always. Always lightens my day in work scrolling through your photos. You are one of those people who makes me want to get out and shoot.

adamkozlowski said...

Everytime you post a few tens of new pics, i want to have about 25% of them as prints... But i can't afford it yet.

Great ones. Answering your question - these are not boring at all man. Ansel Adams photos get boring. Yours don't.

I hope to find a rangefinder under my christmas tree this year. Bessa R3A with 40/1.4 S.C.? What do you reckon?

one hell of a long post. The party shots are nice. I processed my last role from vienna today the tmax 400, I managed to forget I had pshed it so it came out a bit underexposed.

Is most of this stuff trix? cause the exposures from teh party shots are bang on.

Great work as always, I can only imagine how much time you put into photography. Are you familiar W. Eugene Smith's Pittsburgh project? It was supposed to be like a weekend of photos, and in the end he had spent two years just taking pictures in an attempt to capture the essence of the city and its people. I believe your work has the same character, that all the photos combined create "the image", and your narration makes it so much more enjoyable. I don't think I will ever get bored of your photos.

I've just recently bought Mt4 Protect and wanted to tell you guys about my experience with it.
I was worried about all the MT4 Malware out there at the moment as I heard you can get them from downloading EA's from the web.
While I don't download decompiled forex robots the last thing I want is some hacker getting my account details and draining my forex account as I have built it up into quite a bit of cash. That's why I purchased MT4 protect so it can stop my pc from getting attacked. I think the price is well worth the protection I will receive
I got a copy at mt4protect.com via paypal and my product code was sent to me within 4 hours.
I installed it and its great It works in the system tray and scans my computer in real time to detect any attacks.
The EA optimization tool is so great - you can allocate more memory to your MT4 terminal so your trades get executed faster! There are also heaps of registry tweaks and cleanup features that have speeded up my Windows 2000 computer.
With malware and virus attacks hitting Forex traders all the time now I definitely think that MT4 Protect is a worthwhile investment.
