must say.. taking celebrety photos on the red curtain is quite a challenge itself. all the photographers around you trying to get the best position. not much time to get the right photo of the right persons... but shooting with a tilt/shift lens, without automatic focus or metering can be tricky.. but it was fun and i think the photos differ from the usual.. so yeah might not be the last time i used this lens for an event.

this is the elevator in my staircase. it's somehow frustating that everywhere i moved into a new flat, there was a building site around.. now it's even in the house itself... shitloads of dust and unrythmic noises of saws and hammers. they could at least make noise like aphex twin and use some spotlights to make the dust look like disco-smoke.. i'd prefer that.

the other day. on the way to bernhards exhib. i was sitting in the tram.. saw this guy with the camera.. seems like ae1 to me. he was focusing on the man behind me.. not knowing i had my camera ready. so i was waiting till he was done.. then showed him "mine" aww... i made him smile !

we later met on the exhib. what a coincidence, i mean.. it was like the meeting of vienniese streetshoters.. they were all over the place !! ;)

next day. a demonstration of more or less politically left people against an event of an austrian rightwing fraternity that was taking place that evening.


police is getting ready by 6pm. closing this area to avoid any conflicts. quite absurd if you ask me.. because we're in austria not in france, sorry my french friends, that's more an ironic statement ;)


police cars parking everywhere. wind up to 100 km/h made it hard to keep the 15th crisp.




after some time the police had blocked each road around the demonstration.

there were other photographers too. more "professional" ones than me. i was there for fun not for 16mm close as possible fun, more that "austria is so ridiculous" fun-fun.


as i said. veeery windy. so i was using flash from time to time.


"jobs are on the street" it says. well policeman is a job. so in this case it's correct.

miriams 2 weeks visit in vienna, ended up in staying home most of the time.. it's because of the little creatures that made her sick, just like several other people right now. so i was staying home a lot lately too.. sleeping till 2pm or even longer.. doing nothing really intresting beside the shopping, cooking, eating and cleaning up the mess i did oh and yeah, taking pictures of course.

i don't particulary remember what she was trying to represent here.. i was more concentrated on holding the camera still. shooting trix at 400 again as usual.

that's inas dog. some of you know it from other photos already. i was just wondering what it takes to get some details in that black little creature on a photograph.. so i tried a 4th second. seemed to fit.

like i said. staying home, actually in the bed was unavoidable.

she'll probably kill me for posting this... but it was so absurd, i couldn't resist. it's chamomile, to relax the eyes probably... god may know.

the other night a befriended band was playing a small gig.

on my way there.

the place itself. well known here in vienna. the arena. great gigs there.

i was walking around.. there was nothing to photograph because there was no light at all.. so i've seen that girl looking at the display of her digicam.. was enough light for a photo.

so they started playing. i took some photos for them.

after the gig.

i had some frames left. all three of them were rolling some cigarettes.. i also like how her expression is changing on every photo of the little series.

then the roll was finished.

i had about half an hour to walk around at the airport before my train would arrive.

i've been waiting in that hall many times. i know how entertaining this can be.

went directly to the darkroom to develope the rolls. last frame i took. kinda eerie. i like.

some people started to ask me lately where i take the time to develope all the films, scan them and post these entries all the time...

well.. shooting is easy. just goes beside.. but when i think about it the other processes... it's now 3:26am and i started developing the films at 5pm.. so yes.. i takes about 10 hours to develope, go home, scan, resize, upload in the blog, write and post and on a sunday like today, i just had the time. now i'm tired.

winter. it's the time of sick people everywhere, staying home and making party.. well at least the few days around new years.

i didn't take my camera with me to most events lately.. if there is no light, there won't be a photo. it's an easy rule to stick to.

so as always, starting chronological.

i kinda found it intresting how the snow melted on this mercedes. it seems as if the structure of the actual motor under the hood was responsible for this form.
